Facility Function

The facility is intended for application in an educational laboratory practical work in studying mass exchanging processes in the discipline "Processes and apparatuses of petroleum and gas refinement and petrochemistry" for the following specialties 130603 "Petroleum and gas refinement equipment", 170503 "Engineering of solid fuel, petroleum and gas processing", 170506 "Engineering of equipment and structures anticorrosive protection", course 150400 "Technological machines and equipment". Technical features of the facility allow the following laboratory researches:

1. Research of heat exchange process during direct contact on mass exchange tray between a liquid and a gas (thermal balance, definition of heat losses, calculation of heat transfer factors(heat emission), reception of their dependence on hydrodynamic modes on a tray);

2. Mass exchange process on the contact system of mass exchange facility (evaporation) between a liquid and a gas (definition of mass exchange factors (mass transfer), reception of their dependence on hydrodynamic modes of interaction))research;

3. Research of hydrodynamic phenomena in plate column (dependence of resistance of dry, irrigated plate on speed of gas in a column, calculation of plate resistance factor).

4. Research of hydrodynamic phenomena in packed column (dependence of resistance of dry, irrigated layer of nozzle on speed of gas, visual supervision of operation modes, experimental definition of flooding rate).

1. Basic technical and other requests: facility performance - modular, mobile. Approximate dimensions - 1800х900х2000 mm; independent air supply with graded and smooth manual regulation of its consumption; flowing heating of water on an irrigation with adjustment in accordance to PID control principle; Diameter of apparatuses - 200 mm for visualization of hydrodynamic effect of liquid and gas. These apparatuses are partially made of transparent glass).

2. Facility description. The facility consists of two vertical vessels (column of trays and packed column) with diameter equal to 200 mm. Column of trays consists of two bubble cap trays , packed tray has ceramic rings of 15*15*2 mm. Hydrodynamic researches and combined heat/mass exchanges are carried out on column of vessels. Work on columns is realized alternately. Air delivered in columns from an independent high pressure fan. During the realization of combined heat/mass exchanges research on trays the water heats up by electric heater with the capacity of 6 kW.

 

Columns are produced from glass cylinder shells (Czech Republic) and PVC cylinder shells for visual observation of phases interaction. Facility is mounted on supporting iron, produced of shaped tube 30х30х2 mm. In order to provide it with mobile moving it is installed on transport wheels with a stopper. Total overall dimensions: 1820х90х2000 mm. Maximum power consumption: 12 kW (in the mode of water heating) from 380 V network with 3 phases. The facility requires connection to water supply system and sewage.
